Vision

We had a vision support teacher visit the class to teach us all about our vision. We tried sim specs to step into the shoes of someone who has impaired vision and / or blindness to think about how they might experience the world. We found our daily tasks to be challenging! We felt a lot more aware of the challenges other people might be facing.

Problem Solvers

Linking to our learning about how mirrors work in Science, the class were given a problem to solve. Their problem was to find a way to see around corners. We had lots of fun being creative. We had to test our inventions and make adjustments and we had lots of success. There are lots more ideas like this on the website linked below.

In the style of Henri Matisse

In art we are learning about shape and colour. We learnt about Henri Matisse and how he used coloured paper cutting to create his artwork. We first challenged ourselves to do some drawings with one line without lifting our pen from the page and then used coloured card to create our favourite parts of the painting. We have really talented artists in year 3!

Christmas Crafts

Thank you to those who were able to come to the Winter Warmer today the children were brilliant, I’m so proud! While we were waiting for our turn to sing, we made angels to begin our window decorations and its looking lovely already. We hope to see as many of you as possible at church on Friday for more Christmas Carols.

City Planning in maths

In maths we have started a series of challenges to test out thinking skills. This challenge was all about making a series of houses for a city that had to fit certain criteria. Then we had to lay them out in an organised way to fit as many houses for as many families as possible. We felt like architects!
